Five Women Take Nepal For Jesus

Peggy Shirley:

Nepal women;s conference

As I rushed into the airport, dragging my bags behind me so thankful I was finally able to close them, little did I know what lay ahead for me and my team. We had all stepped out in faith and trusted God that He had called us as His Ambassadors to the Roof Top of the World -- Nepal. During our two weeks in Nepal, we ministered in three meeting almost every day, including large national women’s leadership conferences, Aglow meetings, Bible colleges, and churches. Each night, we came back to the hotel in awe and amazement at how God poured His Spirit with salvations, baptisms in the Holy Spirit and instantaneous healings such as the opening of deaf ears. A total of forty Hindu ladies came forth for salvation. Though this may not sound like a lot, it is a significant move in that renouncing their gods means that these ladies will likely experience real persecution from their families and other Hindus. In one meeting, a Nepali lady came up and told us that she had seen one of us in a vision five years ago and was so excited to see her in real life.

It is very rare that a woman is allowed to minister from the pulpit and preach to men, but we were honored and trusted to be invited into the major churches in the country. In each case, the Lord confirmed our ministry with instant healings, salvations, and baptisms in the Holy Spirit. Though the meetings were large with hundreds in attendance, the Lord didn’t miss even one who came hungry for His touch.

Another blessing on this trip was the release of one of Delron’s new books in the Nepali language. Thank you to all of you who prayed for us and helped with the trip expenses and the translation and printing costs.

Sheree VanAusdal:

When the Lord first called me to Nepal it was through a vision, in which I saw a Hindu woman weeping. The woman wore a red Saris, and a red mark was on her forehead. She beckoned with her hand for me to come. I went to her and took her by the hand and knelt down to pray. As we wept and prayed together the mark on her forehead disappeared. While I was still pondering the vision I heard the words, “I am married to Nepal.” Our first week in Nepal was during the Festival of Women. I asked Rebecca what this festival was about and this is what she said,

Nepal Women's Conference

“In the Hindu culture married women dress in their finest red clothes and wear their green wedding necklaces. They mark their foreheads to resemble the princess/queen of Nepal—a Hindu goddess. At this time they bring gifts to the shrines and pray for the prosperity of their husbands. There is much celebration all over the country. This is why we scheduled the women’s meetings, so the ladies would not return to the festivals, instead they would come to church.”

That morning after Sister Peggy and Sister Bette preached, nine ladies came forward to receive Christ. Three of them were wearing the beautiful red saris and green wedding necklaces. On their foreheads they wore the red dot. I watched as my vision came alive. These women received Christ and by the afternoon meetings they had washed off the marks on their heads and wore the expressions of the new bride of Christ—pure joy! They had found Jesus. We experienced the move of the Holy Spirit several times during the mission meetings many Hindu women came to Christ! Many more ladies were filled with the Holy Spirit. God is so good!

Linda Easton: The awesome greatness of our God cannot be over emphasized in our 2008 trip to Nepal. In two weeks we had twenty-eight meetings, numerous salvations, healings, and baptisms in the Holy Spirit. In two of our meetings the women were taught a "Workshop on Healing," how to lay hands and see people healed. We had a great outpouring of God's Spirit at church services and also at a Nepal Bible School. Many were baptized in the Holy Spirit and were so grateful for the Bibles we gave them. God is truly raising up the women of Nepal to their rightful place and also bringing more people to the Lord. In 1961, there only 200 Christians; in 1971, 2000; in 1978, 25,000. The 1980s was a decade of persecution, but was also a decade of growth. In 1990, there were 100,000; in 2006, 450,000 with 3500 churches established. To God be the glory.

Lisa Pierson:

We were tremendously blessed from the beginning of this trip to the end. We saw young women become interpreters for the first time and watched them become incredibly excited in the Lord. We watched God use the Nepali women as vessels to pray for other Nepali women for healing. We witnessed a Bible college on fire for the Lord, now filled with students baptized in the Holy Spirit and all armed with their own Bible. Finally, we watched what God can do through a group of women united in one mind and one accord. The glory is to the Lord!

Bette Aworh:

This was my first trip to Nepal, it truly is a beautiful nation. I could not take my eyes off of the mountains; they are so majestic. I feel like they are exalting the One who made them. I was saddened by all the pagan images that I saw all around, and I pray that God would open the eyes of Nepali people to the only true God. A woman told me that she saw me in a vision five years ago, she was excited to see me in real life. There was a great visitation of the Lord in all the meetings we had in Nepal. We had at least forty salvations, many testimonies of healings, deliverances, and other things that the Lord did. We thank God for the unity among us and a successful mission trip. I believe that God will send me back to Nepal on another missionary trip.
