AFRICA!!

Hungry Hearts in UgandaWe have just returned from Africa where we visited three nations: South Africa, Zambia, and Uganda.  What a wonderful time we had ministering to many of the top Christian leaders in these countries.  Although we had no formal ministry engagements in South Africa, we were busy the whole time in meetings with the Every Home for Christ staff.  Since Delron is helping direct a big project with their ministry, he took advantage of our time in the country to meet with the key players in the project to re-evaluate the progress so far and to lay out some strategies of the next phase of the project.  We also had a number of one-on-one ministry opportunities while in the country.

While traveling between Zambia and Uganda, we had a very long lay-over in Kenya.  Rather than just sitting in the airport, we decided to hire a cab to drive us into town for dinner.  As we were leaving the airport property, we were amazed to be suddenly in the presence of giraffes and zebras.  Since Nairobi National Park actually borders the airport grounds, these animals frequently migrate right up to boundary lines.  We figured that they were just being polite by coming as a special welcoming committee to greet us.

Pastors Conference in ZambiaIn Zambia, we held a three-day conference in the capital city which was attended by a number of the most prominent pastors in the country.  On Sunday, Delron ministered in one of the largest churches in the nation.  We were told that the president of Zambia was scheduled to attend the service; however, he had a last-minute change of plans.  The service was broadcast nationally on radio and television and via satellite to South Africa.

In Uganda, Peggy ministered in two two-day women’s conferences while Delron held two two-day pastors’ conferences.  Both of us ministered on Sunday morning and then at a couple’s dinner that evening.  We were really impressed by the spiritual hunger demonstrated in the pastors’ meetings and the ladies’ conferences as the delegates sat for hours drinking in our teachings.  Even when we offered them a break, they insisted that we keep ministering! The theme of the conferences and the topic of most of our ministry was based on Delron's new book, People Who Make A Difference.  Everyone was thrilled to receive a free copy of the book to go along with the verbal teaching in the class.  We received innumerable comments as to the clarity of the presentation while the material was profoundly insightful and relevant.  It would be impossible to even guess how many of the leaders came to us to express their gratitude for our coming.  Almost to a man, they would add that our teaches were exactly what they needed to hear at exactly this time!  Likewise, we wish to extend our appreciation to all our friends and partners whose prayers and financial gifts made this trip possible.  May God richly bless every one of you.
